Wishlist Wednesday: For the never ending to-do list

I’ve been wanting to add a section to my blog for a while with all the things that I put on my wishlist on Amazon as well as collections of products I love. So, I’d like to introduce you to Wishlist Wednesday!

I’m starting this series off with something near and dear to my heart: staying sane. If you’re a mom, you probably have a never-ending to-do list. Heck, if you have a pulse you probably have a never-ending to-do list, too. I’ve always been someone who loves to put their lists on post-its because when the job is done you get to throw it out. It always felt like an accomplishment. Once I had a little on in tow, though, the lists just went on and on. Things got moved from one day to the next or forgotten altogether which felt like a failure on my part. Or sometimes I’d lose the list completely, only to find it months (or years) later like this list of books I wanted to add to my reading list.

Shortly after Alexandra was born, I decided I would try this craze of bullet journaling. My bullet journal isn’t pretty or artistic, but it works for me. I’m not going to write about how to create yours because a quick Google search will give you more than enough information on how to do that. What I will do is post my starter kit if you want to try it. There are so many recommendations out there on what journal or pens to use, so here are a few of my favorites!

Leuchtturm1917 Hardcover Medium Dotted Journal [Emerald] This is my favorite journal ever. The pages are silky smooth and just thin enough that if you want to paste/tape something onto a page it’s not super bulky. There is slight bleedthrough of ink if you use really dark colors, but it doesn’t bother me.

Westcott 10414 Stainless Steel Office Ruler With Non Slip Cork Base, 6″ This little ruler is fabulous. It fits perfectly in the back pocket of my journal and is super lightweight. The non-slip base means it doesn’t wiggle when you want to make extra crisp lines which is ideal.

Staedtler Triplus Fineliner 0.3 mm Porous Point Pen 334 – SB10, 10 pack I cannot tell you how much I am in love with these pens! I use them for everything from my journal, to notes to the hubs, to writing in cards. The colors are really pretty. The next time I have a few extra dollars to spend, I’ll be buying myself the larger set of these. I cannot get enough of them!

BIC VLGB11-Blk Velocity Bold Retractable Ball Pen, Bold Point (1.6mm), Black, 12-Count When I’m feeling fancy, I’ll write my header with my Staedtler’s and then my text entry with these. They write so smooth, which is a pre-requisite for me for pens. These are also my go to, everyday pen. I used to have people take these off my desk at work because they loved them, so now I always buy them in a larger box!

Erin Condren Stylized Sticky Corner Pocket, Cherry Blossom I love all of the Erin Condren line, but especially these little pockets. They’re perfect for putting on a page to slip in business cards, receipts, paint chips, whatever! They’re slightly transparent so you can’t forget that something is inside them which is great.

The little tabs to the right of the pens in the photo were picked up from Michael’s in their planner section and I love having something like that to mark off my major journal sections for quick searching. What I love about my journal is that it’s always changing. Sure, I have my to-do lists in there, but I also used it to keep a record of new foods Alexandra was trying (below… in different colors for each day, usually matching the type of food she was eating!), I used it for planning her first birthday party, I use it as a gratitude journal, and it’s been a great place to write down notes when I am meeting with people during my job search. If you’re debating taking the jump into bullet journaling, hope this wishlist helps!
